Since 1968, our family has been committed to helping individuals and families across Kansas protect their health, plan for retirement, and make informed insurance decisions. As a three-generation, family-owned and operated agency, we take pride in providing personalized service built on trust, integrity, and lasting relationships.

Our agency was founded in Iola, Kansas, by Gary McIntosh, who began his career specializing in life insurance. As the insurance industry evolved, Gary expanded the agency's services to include health insurance products, ensuring clients had access to the coverage they needed throughout every stage of life.

Susan Booth joined the agency in 1994, continuing the family's commitment to serving the community. In 2005, she shifted her focus to Medicare, becoming a trusted resource for individuals navigating their Medicare options and helping countless clients understand and enroll in the coverage that best fits their needs.



In 2022, the third generation joined the agency when Logan Booth became a licensed insurance agent, continuing the family tradition of personalized service. More recently, Earl McIntosh, Gary's son and Susan's brother, joined the agency, bringing decades of insurance experience. Earl serves clients from our Topeka, Kansas, extension office, allowing us to expand our reach while maintaining the same family-centered approach.

We also believe education empowers better decisions. Since 2022, we have proudly hosted free Medicare educational events throughout Iola and surrounding communities, helping people better understand their Medicare options before making important healthcare decisions.

Susan Booth

Agent, Executive Vice President

Susan joined her father in the insurance business in 1990 and became a licensed Life and Health Insurance agent in 1994.​ As a result of the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003, Susan shifted her focus in 2005. Susan has specialized in Medicare-related services and has been a local resource for nearly 20 years. With a passion for education, Susan offers free Medicare educational events to Southeast Kansas communities. With the introduction of the Affordable Healthcare Act (Marketplace) in 2014, Susan was a pioneer in assisting those needing Health insurance. Susan is here to help with your pre and post-retirement needs.

Logan Booth

Agent, Associate

Logan joined his mother Susan and grandfather Gary in the insurance business in the spring of 2022 and became a licensed Health and Life agent. As a Pittsburg State alumnus, Logan spent four years as a loan officer before joining our business as a third-generation agent. He has quickly become a knowledgeable resource for every product our office offers.

Gary McIntosh, CLU

President

Gary began his long association in the insurance industry in 1968. Gary was a Northwestern Mutual Life agent for many years and after a long and respected career, he is now enjoying retirement. Gary and his lovely bride have been married since 1964 and have 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Gary loves his community and has been an active participant for many years. His many volunteer efforts include City Commissioner, President of Chamber of Commerce, and involved in establishment of Your Community Foundation. Gary enjoys gardening, animal rescue and spending time with his family.

Earl McIntosh, LUTCF

Agent, Associate

We’re excited to welcome Earl McIntosh, LUTCF, to the McIntosh Booth Agency team! With 28 years of experience in the insurance industry, Earl brings a wealth of knowledge in life, health, property, and casualty coverage. He will be focusing on Medicare, health, and life insurance, helping clients make confident, informed decisions about their coverage.

Earl is based out of our Topeka, Kansas office and holds degrees from Allen County Community College and Pittsburg State University. He also earned his Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) designation through The American College. Earl retired from the Marine Corps reserves with 21 years of service.

Insurance runs in the family. Earl is the son of founders Gary and Barbara McIntosh, brother to owner Susan Booth, and uncle to agent Logan Booth. Earl is continuing a proud family tradition. Outside of work, Earl enjoys camping, archery, and spending time outdoors, especially walking his dog, Ellie. He and his wife, Cheryl, have three grown children.

Laci Sicka

Office Manager

Laci has been a licensed insurance agent since 2008 and brings years of experience in personal lines, helping individuals and families protect what matters most. Known for her friendly, dependable service, she currently serves as our Office Manager while expanding her knowledge in Medicare and health insurance. As a lifelong resident of the area, Laci values building strong relationships and being a trusted local resource. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her three children, golfing, and making the most of the outdoors.

Jeff Riesberg

Financial Advisor

Jeff began his career in financial services in 2006 after his military service. He added his life and health insurance license in 2012. Jeff is also a Financial Advisor and offers financial planning and advisory services through Sequent Planning, LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA).

Sequent Planning and McIntosh Booth Insurance are unaffiliated. Insurance, legal, accounting and tax products or services are not offered through Sequent Planning.

Mary Ross

Retired Office Manager

After nearly 30 years as a valued member of the McIntosh Booth Insurance family, Mary retired in 2025. Throughout her career as Office Manager, Mary’s dedication to our clients, unwavering work ethic, exceptional teamwork, and creative, outside-the-box thinking have made a lasting impact on our agency.

While we could list countless accomplishments, it is Mary’s genuine kindness, steady calm, and sincere care for others that we will miss most. She has touched not only the lives of our clients, but each of us who have had the privilege of working alongside her.

Mary’s positive influence will continue to be felt long after her retirement. Although she will be deeply missed, we know this is not goodbye—just the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We extend our sincerest gratitude and warmest wishes to Mary as she enters this well-deserved next phase of life.
